15th International Film Festival

The National Museum in partnership with many institutions, one of which is the University Library “Svetozar Markovic”, organizes 15th International Archaeological Film Festival which will be held in the atrium at the National museum from March 27th to April 3rd 2014.

The National Museum in partnership with the Embassy of Republic of Poland, Goethe-Institut, Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, Cervantes Institute, Hellenic Foundation for Culture, Iranian Cultural Centre in Belgrade, Embassy of Brazil in Belgrade and the University Library “Svetozar Markovic” organizes 15th International Archaeological Film Festival which will be held in the atrium at the National museum from March 27th to April 3rd 2014.


This year 19 films from 8 countries will be shown – Poland (1), Germany (5), Italy (5), Spain (3), Greece (1), Iran (2), Brasil (1) and Serbia (1).
The only film from Serbia comes from the University Library “Svetozar Markovic”: Donald Kagan on Western Civilisation and Archeology, 48 minutes, Serbia 2014. It will be shown on Saturday, March 29th at 9 p.m.


The selected films are of a very high scientific quality and they are characterized by an attractive approach to cultural heritage. Therefore, they enable not only experts but all those interested in old civilisations to learn about important and valuable world heritage sites. These are mostly news, stories and educational films which represent important discoveries of the past from different civilisation periods. The audience will be introduced with the newest archeological research in Serbia and around the world in an amusing and interesting way.


Due to the great interest of the audience the premieres of films, which are shown every day at 8 p.m., will be shown again the next at 5 p.m.
