Next lecture in a series "Librarians for Librarians" organized by National Library of Serbia and Serbian Library Association will be "Gamification in Libraries" by Adam Sofronijevic from University Library "Svetozar Markovic". The presentation will be held on December 12 at 2.00 PM at the National Library of Serbia.

The lecture will focus on introducing ideas, concepts and elements of games into a business environment. Gamification theory is extremely developed and builds upon a wealth of knowledge coming from organizational sciences, psychology, information sciences, sociology, economy and other subject areas. Gamification is used in most of businesses today, however, librarianship and other creative industries are a bit late when it comes to implementation of methods and techniques provided by this concept.

Adam Sofronijevic holds a certificate earned by attending a prestigious course "Gamification" by professor Kevin Werbach. As a member of LIBER conference programming committee, Adam gave key contribution for including gamification in the 2014 conference program. He also participated as a consultant in delivering the first master paper on gamification in libraries that was presented at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade in November 2013.
