The European Library just launched a new showcase: "Science & Machines", focusing on advancements and inventions from the 19th and 20th century. It includes over 600 images, videos and historical documents, ranging from an early history of electricity to a film showing the birth of the world’s first test tube baby.

It includes over 600 images, videos and historical documents, ranging from an early history of electricity to a film showing the birth of the world’s first test tube baby.

 

University Library "Svetozar Marković" contributed to this remarkable exhibit by adding digital materials of high significance from Serbia: "Uros Dzonic’s diary" about the origins and construction of the building of the University library in Belgrade (1919), Sima Lozanic’s portrait (1922) the first Serbian chemist, president of the Serbian Royal Academy, the first rector of the University of Belgrade, Mihailo Pupin's notesGeological map of the Kingdom of Serbia from 1886, as well as many other digital objects.
