The "Svetozar Markovic" University Library is the biggest university library in the country. It is the central library for the University of Belgrade, the University of Arts and all the other university-level and specialised libraries in Serbia. The main Library users are students, university lecturers and researchers, but all citizens have the right to use it. The Library collection consists mainly of scientific and special publications, for the most part foreign-language editions. The Library has access to the Internet on a 24-hour basis via the academic network.
The working hours for the reading rooms are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Information about the Library is available via the Information service – phone no. 3370-512 or directly from individual Library departments. The main contact telephones are 3370-509 and 3370-513; the area code for Belgrade is 38111 from abroad, or 011 from Yugoslavia.
