Prof. Dr. Dr. H. James Birx

As an anthropologist and philosopher, Dr. H. James Birx advocates an evolutionary framework. He has been greatly influenced by the thoughts of Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900), whose major philosophical ideas are reflected in the classic epic film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).

Birx's lectures and academic writings present a dynamic worldview that emphasizes both a cosmic perspective and an evolutionary interpretation of this universe. He has Ń‚raveled extensively, from Australia and Mexico to Egypt and Russia. He has been an invited visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge and twice at Harvard University. Most recently,Birx has both edited and contributed to 10 volumes for prestigious SAGE Publications in Thousand Oaks, California. He is delighted to be a distinguished visiting professor in the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade.
